2006 Diwali Tamil Film releases
Here's a look at the big Tamil movies, releasing this Diwali. Varalaaru Last Diwali, we saw the clash of Vikram and Vijay with Sivakasi and Majaa. But this year, there are no films of superstars like Kamal Haasan, Rajnikanth, Vikram or Vijay. But then again, this year we have a film from the king of the box office, Ajith. No actor of his generation can match the kind of opening an Ajith film gets. Godfather, which has been rechristened Varalaaru after the state government announced tax exemption for films with Tamil titles, is the biggest release of the season. Though Ajith didn't have a great time at the box office with his films for some time, his last film, Tirupathi, completed 100 days recently. Varalaaru, which was supposed to release last year along with Chandramukhi, Mumbai Express and Sachin, sees Ajith in three roles -- father, son and the villain. It also features Asin, one of the hottest heroines in Tamil cinema. Varalaaru is directed by one of the most successful Tamil directors, K S Ravikumar, who is currently directing Kamal Haasan's Dasavatharam. Ravkumar had given Ajith a big hit in Villain, in which he played a double role. A R Rahman has scored the music, and P C Sreeram, the cinematography. Source: Rediff.com |
Ajith’s choice : Trisha
After G directed by Lingusamy, Trisha is back to act opposite Ajith. Trisha’s performance was widely appreciated. Currently a busy actress in Tollywood with a host of hits including Stalin opposite Chiranjeevi, Trisha is also at the top in Tamil film industry too with a success in Unakkum Enakkum. The latest is that she has been cast opposite Ajith for the movie titled Kireedam to be produced by Suresh Balaji and Adlabs together. The movie will be directed by A L Vijay and is supposedly a remake of yesteryear Malayalam hit of the same title featuring Mohanlal. Kireedam will go to floors once Ajith completes his Aalwar. Initially Shreya and Nayantra were tipped to do the role. But Trisha has managed to win the race bagging the role. Source: IndiaGlitz.com |

Chiranjeevi, Rajini in sequel
Gemini film Circuit is making unlimited effort to rope in and recollect revenue that they have spent on purchasing the remake rights of the sequel of Munna Bhai MBBS. Even before the stars have announced their willingness to act in the sequels, the public and film crazy junta have taken for granted that Chiranjeevi will do the sequel in the telugu version and Rajinikant will do the tamil version. This hype will continue through out for a long time to come. Source: Andhracafe.com |
